View from the Farm: August 2025

Summer is winding down, but we're not! We've got our new driveway open, which is going to be a huge improvement for visitors coming to the farm (not to mention ourselves!). We're also getting in our second cutting of hay, and keeping up with the horse training.


We're (almost?) Internet Famous
Okay, okay, it isn't quite like we've gone viral, but we are totally blown away by the reception to our YouTube videos. When our videographer daughter put our first clips together into a polished video for us, we never imagined that it would get many views. It's very exciting to watch our uploads get clicked on and our channel gain some subscribers. I guess it may be time for us to get some new gear and shoot some even fancier shots!

Second Cutting
It is still hot now, but the calendar tells us that summer won't go on forever. Our job for the moment is to get as much out of this heat as we can. In addition to cutting our second round of hay off our main field, which we hope will yield well, we're also letting our pastures recoup for one more round of grazing.
Beef Returning
Our family farm raised Hill Place beef should be back in stock within the next few weeks. If you want to make sure we've saved your favorite cuts, let us know what you'd like and we'll have it ready for you on the farm!

Sugarhouse
Alright, we think we finally winnowed down the do list to the point where the sugarhouse actually is next on the list. It would be hard to overstate how excited for this we are, because sugaring is one our very favorite things to do.

Hill Place Merch in the Wild
Our older daughter and her family met our younger daughter and her family (say that 3 times fast!) for a quick holiday in Kent, England. Here's our Hill Place shirt showing off at Dover Castle!
