Our big announcement this week is that the twin colts finally have names! We can't say that naming them wasn't a struggle. So many of the good historical and mythological twin references would be too hard to shout commands at a horse, and so many other ideas were too pop-culturey. Eventually we pulled inspiration from our nation's 250th anniversary and selected names from our founding fathers-- for the full naming story, check out our YouTube video.

Rhubarb custard pie

Ingredients:4 cups rhubarb chopped (1/2” or smaller)

2 cups sugar

2 egg yolks

1 egg

1/2 stick butter (melted)

1/3 cup flour

1/4 cup cream

1/4 cup milk

Instructions:Stir 1/2 cup sugar into chopped rhubard stir till coated and let sit for 10 minutes Mix melted butter with remainder of sugar and flour. Add egg yolks and whole egg and milk and cream stir together. Add in sugar coated rhubarb. Stir. Pour in uncooked 9” pie shell. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown, center should be slightly wobbly.

What's Blooming?

The annual cut flower field is in! We still have to start a second round of a few succession crops, but this milestone means the bulk of 2026's flowers are on and growing.

Subscriptions Are Closed. Don't worry if you failed to snag one of our spots; we planted plenty of extras so the stand will stocked with additional arrangements when available.

Crops Coming Along

Our crop land is plugging away. The first pumpkins are coming up, and sweet corn and other summer crops are going into the ground. We've also been moving some of our future Christmas trees to better accommodate our current plans. If the weather holds, we will also cut our first cut of hay this weekend.

Meat Chickens Coming Soon!

We just put in our order for broiler chicks, so it will only be a few weeks until we've got whole roasting chickens available again.
