We've sure been busy this month! We threw a big Hill Place 4th of July party with both of our daughters and all seven of our grandchildren. Work on our driveway is continuing, and we took a break to install a new swing set for our grandchildren. We also finally made it on our dream trip of seeing the giant Sequoia trees.

Beef Is Coming Back!
Our freezers are soon to be restocked with fresh meat raised on our family farm. We expect to have cuts of beef available for sale again by August 21st.

Something you've been dying for? If you want to make sure there is a brisket or a ribeye or a skirt steak waiting for you in those butcher boxes.
Meat Chickens Ready for Next Week
The first batch of our broilers will be processed in the next week. If you would like to order a fresh, chilled (but not frozen) whole bird you can pre-order one here. After that they'll be available frozen while supplies last. $4/lb, bird size will vary.

Farm Fresh Eggs

The young hens in our replacement flock have just started laying. As you can see from the scale, they're still laying tiny little eggs, but soon they'll be up to standard and ready to fill up our egg fridge! In the meantime, we are still getting eggs from our older hens. We expect to have plenty available by this fall.

Welcome to Dandelion!
Rosebud, our Jersey/Holstein cross cow decided that the best time to have her calf was when we were on vacation. Fortunately, our daughter and her husband were undeterred and expertly rounded her and calf up into the barn. Dandelion the heifer calf, is half Red Devon out of the bull we had last summer.
Equipment Upgrade
Dave made a side trip this weekend to collect a new round baler at a very good price. This should be a huge improvement over our old one which always seemed to need some tinkering. Special thanks to Betsy's niece for loaning us her husband to split the driving!
