We are excited to announce the arrival of a very special new guy at Hill Place farm! A new Corgi puppy named Buster has finally made his way to join us. Buster comes all the way from England, where our youngest daughter raises Pembroke Welsh Corgis.

Welcome to the farm (and the USA), Buster Baxter!

Maple Cream Pie

From: Sarah Miller Putnam

Already planning your Thanksgiving menu? We've got a pie recommendation for you!

Not enough eggs in the fridge to cover it? Don't worry-- fresh eggs are available self-served at Hill Place whenever you need 'em!

Ingredients

1 pre-baked pie crust

2 cup milk

1 cup dark (grade B) maple syrup

1/4 cup butter

3 Tablespoons cornstarch

2 large egg yolks

Instructions

Mix ingredients in a medium pot. Bring to a boil on the stovetop, stirring constantly. Mixture should resemble pudding. Remove from heat and pour into your pre-baked pie crust.

Once the filling has cooled off and set, top with whipped cream to serve.

Fall is a busy season

ree

As October is wrapping up, we're running full swing on some of the busiest time of the year. Its been a mild fall so far, but the cold and snow are still right around the corner! We're working on getting the last of our pastures by expanding the cattle's area, bringing in wood for the house, and wrapping up a few other projects.

Holiday Prep!

October will be over in just a couple days, and that can only mean one thing; it is time to start the Holiday season in earnest. Our youngest daughter will be visiting this year so we are looking forward to a full house for Christmas. We may not have pumpkins or turkeys this year, but we will still have a lot of holiday goodies to offer you!

Christmas Wreaths and Garlands

ree

Our trees may not be ready yet, but that doesn't mean we won't have any Christmas greenery! This year we will have fresh balsam fir Christmas wreaths, kissing balls, and garland all made on the farm. Quantities will be pretty limited.
