View from the Farm: March 2025

The days have gotten longer and so has our ambition. We're harnessing our horses up to pull out some logs, adding new content to our internet presence, and restocking our chicken flock. Even with more sun it still seems there aren't enough hours in the day!

Chicken Update

Our new laying hen chicks have arrived! We have eggs again for now, but the only way to keep on top of our demand (and ahead of those grocery store egg prices) is to add some brand new birds to the flock. Good thing we ordered them when we did-- it seems like all the hatcheries are out of stock now!

2025 Not the Year

Well, our family in Vermont has been busy boiling maple sap into syrup and yet again it looks like we've missed our shot. That to-do list only keeps growing, but here's hoping for next year!

Vegetable Garden

Last summer our crops were a bit underwhelming, but that hasn't stopped us from planning another run at it! Sweet corn, string beans, dry beans, and pumpkins are all on the roster for this summer. We just need to keep ahead of the weeds and the deer...
