It's 2026! We've got a lot going on right now, and a lot of things we hope to see accomplished in the new year. Some of our biggest resolutions:

- Finish sugar house and catch sugaring season

- Further increase our flock of chickens

- Break Holly and Tilly to drive

Hill Place trees made their debut as a true Christmas tree. This one is potted for our future use.

Special Occasion Steaks

Planning a special evening? Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Why not skip the crowded, expensive restaurant this year and instead treat your sweetie to a candlelight dinner at home.

We've got some beautiful, classic steak cuts available to help you make it a special night.

An Old-Fashioned Spring

In Bennington, we had lived at the base of the mountain, so all of the maples that we tapped for our sugarplace were uphill of the clearing where we built our sugarhouse. This made the perfect set up for tapping with tubing and running it all down the hill into a gathering tank which ran into the sugarhouse. At Hill Place, however, we don't have the aid of gravity; so instead of using tubing we plan to tap our trees the old-fashioned way with galvanized buckets. This gathering tank, which we just picked up, will sit on our wagon and allow us to gather all the buckets of sap with our horses.

Heated Garage

We're in the process of installing a wood stove in the garage so that space can be heated. Since its currently serving as our workshop, heating it will help us a get a lot more done.

The (horse) Stork is Coming!

If all goes to plan, 2026 will see Hill Place's first full Suffolk colt born. Last summer Lena spent some time with a local Suffolk stud horse, and we look forward to welcoming another of her babies this year.

Fresh Cut Flowers

We're very excited to announce that we will again be partnering with Daisy Acres Flowers to grow and offer beautiful specialty cut flowers right here at Hill Place. Want to gift you or someone you love a summer of flowers? A flower subscription will get you 10 flower arrangements over 10 weeks (late June-early Septemberish... dates to be determined), $120, for easy pick up at the Hill Place Farm Stand.
