So much for spring, we’re snowed in again up here. Once we get dug out we’ll be back at work on our spring list.

Peter Cottontail is hopping down the bunny trail
And this year he’s teamed up with our hens to bring you fresh eggs for Easter! Deviled eggs are a staple at our family’s Easter dinners, along with cakes and cookies to round out the chocolate for dessert. You can even use dye to make your own colored eggs, though not all colors show up well on our hen’s brown shells. The longer days mean they’ve been laying great, so don’t forget to stop in or order your Hill Place eggs before you put your baskets out next Sunday! Unfortunately we can’t help with the chocolate kind!
Driveway Work Underway

Work on clearing the path for the new and improved Hill Place driveway is off to a solid start. This new layout will be a fairly substantial change to our current dooryard, and entails a much longer roadway. We’re busy clearing our way through a stand of old apple trees (more smoking wood bundles!). Once complete our new entrance should have space to be lined with Christmas trees and small flower fields.
Tree Expansion
As it is every year, this is the season when we plan out how and when we’ll work to expand our Christmas tree operations. We’re still a couple years out, but we can’t wait to see our first Hill Place tree cut and decorated.

Greenhouse
Some of you may remember last summer when we started work on a greenhouse with the goal of offering potted flowering strawberry plants. We ran into a few snags then, but we think we’ve got it figured out and hope to have the frame assembled very soon (and maybe even get those strawberries flowering in time for Mother’s Day!)
