Well, it seems early this year, but we looked at the calendar and Thanksgiving is just about two weeks away! We might not have raised any turkeys this year, but we are here to help you out with some extras that you might need to finish your families feast!

Have you ever considered smoking your Thanksgiving turkey? It is a little more hands on then just throwing one in the oven, but the result is a delicious twist on the holiday classic. And the leftover turkey sandwiches? Amazing!

Here are some reasons to consider a smoked turkey, according to our son-in-law, Noah, who smoked his first Thanksgiving turkey in 2020 and plans to again this year.
A smoked turkey is a much more exciting flavor. Don't think you're a fan of turkey? It could be that the simple roasted flavor is not enough for you. Smoked turkey has a lot more going on.
Everyone knows that oven space is at a premium on Thanksgiving, but if you smoke your turkey, you free up all the space that the 15lb bird would have taken up!
If you have a smoker, this is a great time to use it. In a pinch though, a charcoal grill alone can work!
It does take some babysitting (which can get you out of the kitchen for a minute, if that is your goal!) but all of your guests are sure to be impressed when they hear the extra effort you went to and taste the delicious results!

Convinced to try smoking your bird?
We have Applewood smoking wood bundles to help you get there! Available for $5 a bundle. This is the perfect yummy smoke flavor to add to your meat. We recommend using charcoal as your heat/fire source and pairing with damp wood for smoke, but smoking tutorials are readily available on the internet.
Recipe Essentials
Stuffing

Does your family stuffing recipe include sausage? Don't forget that we now offer breakfast, and Italian flavors of pork sausage. $6lb, order online or stop into the farm to get yours!
Eggs
I can think of half a dozen Thanksgiving staples that require eggs. Running out mid cooking on Thursday could leave you in trouble! We always have self-serve eggs available on the porch, $4 per dozen.

When you're tired of leftovers...
When Saturday rolls around and you've had enough turkey sandwiches and leftover pie to last you the rest of the year, we've got you covered! Pick up some of our NH grown steaks (multiple cuts available) or some ground beef to treat yourself to something not reheated! You can order ahead through our website, or stop in when someone is around to get yours.
